As one of my monthly goals is to meditate every day I have signed up for a free meditation challenge with Oprah and Deepak. This 21-day challenge focuses on manifestations of success. Feel free to follow along, try it yourself and/or comment below.
Synchronizing Body and Mind
Q1) For your mind and body to work together to create balance, the mind must be responsive and the body must be adaptable enough to return to a resting state. Recall a time when you had to respond to a stressful situation, and your mind and body worked together to quickly bring you back into balance.
My whole childhood was a very stressful situation. If I wasn’t level headed and good run fast I think I would be in a very different spot in life.
Q2) Biorhythms are Nature’s patterns of motion that keep the body functioning smoothly. Since disruption of our biorhythms is typically due to the mind, not the body, what mental choices can you make that will support your body’s biorhythms?
I think that I could keep my mind calmer, trust my decisions more, not stress myself out about things that are not in my control and my body would much appreciate it.
Q3) Since sleep is our most important biorhythm, what three things can you do to ensure you get a full and deep sleep every night?
1) Go to bed early than I am. I have not been getting to bed until 2 am and I wake up at 7 am. This is not enough rest. I should be going to bed around 11.
2) No screens for the last hour before bed.
3) Write in my journals. It is always nice to end the day by jotting it down and writing what I am grateful for that day.
Q4) Use this space to reflect further on your experience today.
I really, really, really need more sleep. It’s not like I am getting much done at 2 am anyway. Time for bedtime for the first time in 15 years.
